My Home In China

This is my home in China.  We live in a place called Golden Lake and has a western type housing.  That means that there are single home units for each family.  This area is not typical of most dwellings here in China.  It is nice for us, because it is something we are more accustomed to, and we get spoiled with such nice staff to help take care of any problems that arise.  There is a community pool, a gym, a restaurant, a small grocery store, a spa.  We have temperature control inside the house, which is a luxury here and enjoy most of the conveniences that we have back home.  The sounds here are of a much more "tropical" nature.  We hear very loud sounds from the cicadas and lots of birds.  I don't know why, but I do see quite a few creatures I don't remember seeing in Oregon, like really strange looking centipedes and other bugs that I can't name.  We have mosquitos during the summer, which I don't like (but they like me).  All in all, I feel quite lucky to be living here.

This is the "lake" -- more of a deep green instead of Golden.

This is our house.

This angle is looking out from our front porch.

Our entry way.

Greg, taking in the view.

This is a very nice walking path that is available.
